We had the honour of flowering and adding some styling elements to the absolutely stunning wedding for the adorable Emily and Wen, who married at The Renaissance at Kelham, in early June 2024. Emily & Wen had a beautiful fusion wedding, with a ivory and lavender theme, perfectly complementing the dark blue ceiling where they held their wedding breakfast and first dance.
Q. Tell us a little bit about your wedding day
E: We picked a beautiful, grand stately home for our wedding venue with 108 guests. We’re not overly traditional so we arranged everything exactly as we wanted. Everything went so smoothly in the end and I was blown away by how beautiful the bouquets, centrepieces, floral arch (+ pew ends & buttonholes) were.
Q. Can you tell us what your favourite part of the whole day was?
E: So hard to choose…I loved our first dance because it felt so romantic and magical, though I’m sure it was very cheesy as well! But really the whole day was amazing as we were constantly seeing all of our beloved friends and family.
Q. Which floral element did you love the most?
E: I’m going to have to say my bouquet, I just loved holding it and looking at it all day!
Q. D you have any top tips for engaged couples?
E; Stick to the to-do list and set deadlines for yourself for organising the wedding! But most of the things that you will stress about pre-wedding won’t even cross your mind on the day, all the suppliers do their services for a living so take it very seriously to give you the absolute best.
Q. Why did you choose us, LK Wedding Studio?
E: I found them on Hitched – I reached out to a few florists after loving what was on their pages and reading some great reviews. I spoke with Kerry on a Zoom call and felt at ease speaking with her even though I didn’t really know what I wanted, and definitely got the vibe of how hard she would work but also enjoy making new creations. The pricing also seemed reasonable, the other florists I’d spoken to had both lower and higher costs so we were happy to go for something in the middle.
Love Notes
So delighted with Kerry and Laura! After not knowing the first thing about flowers, somehow with our vague ideas they were able to create the PERFECT flowers! I couldn’t have loved my bouquet more, the colours were exactly how I wanted and they were so so pretty. Kerry & Laura also assembled a beautiful arch which was a key piece of the ceremony decor and later moved to the wedding breakfast and then also the dancefloor in the evening! Didn’t catch them myself on the day but I know they were both working hard from early on in the morning, and it all seemed to go smoothly from my perspective! And the centrepieces!! Our photos of the wedding breakfast would not be the same without the gorgeous colourful centrepieces, I love that there is a pop of colour from flowers in most of the shots during the speeches – we had high centrepieces and reused some of the bridesmaids’ bouquets as low centrepieces which worked really well, and the pew ends from the ceremony had moved to the top table which was really sweet. Can’t say thank you enough!! Had the best wedding day and the flowers made it as beautiful as it was!
It was an absolute honour to flower and add the table styling details for Emily & Wen, they were such a wonderful couple to work for, their vision was a joy to bring to life!
